Executive Coaching
Successful Leaders Practice These Skills on A Daily Basis:
Our Process Planning: This phase sets the stage and establishes expectations for the coaching relationship. First, a private interview is scheduled with the organizational sponsor (usually the manager of the coaching candidate) to discuss desired outcomes and performance gaps. Second, we meet with the coaching candidate to assess readiness and commitment and explain the coaching process. Third, a 3-way meeting with the sponsor, the candidate, and the coach is held to clarify expectations, roles, targets and process issues. At this point, a decision is made to proceed with the formal coaching process. Assessment: This phase identifies strengths and development needs through the use of multi-rater feedback, profile instruments, and personal interviews. Development Planning: During this phase, we help the leader understand themes and patterns that emerge from the feedback, and we identify priority development goals and determine success criteria. Coaching and Development: This is where the leader “works the plan.” Through a series of discussions and coaching sessions, the leader focuses on enhancing targeted skill sets. By asking tough questions, offering an objective viewpoint, and suggesting practical techniques, the coach helps facilitate the leader’s growth, capacity for change, and overall effectiveness. Our meetings with the leader can be face to face, or via telephone or e-mail. We also provide periodic feedback to the organizational sponsor. Reinforcement and Measurement: After the coaching phase, progress is assessed and appropriate decisions made in terms of next steps. Periodic check-ins help solidify changes to ensure lasting impact. Often, follow up assessment is recommended to measure improvement from the beginning of the coaching process. To talk further about our coaching services please contact us.
